Name: Kain
Arcana Association: Hanged Man
Persona: Barbatos
History: Kain has always been a very faithful Catholic, until he met Yakumo. Yakumo convinced Kain that God has forsaken mankind, and that it was God's will that man be punished. This all happened to him quickly while he was still part of the Special Assault Team, and it was his superior officer that introduced Kain to Yakumo in the first place. Because he wanted to please his superior officer, he went ahead and did as he was asked. The first task that was asked of him after gaining his devil summoning power was that he kill his teammates. He did so with much hesitation, and he actually cried when he watched the slaughter.
Personality Analysis: With everything that happened around him, Kain doesn't seem to be that bad of a person. He was very civil with Keito at first, and he didn't seem to want to fight. In the end, he wanted to die so he could redeem himself to his God and his good friend. Kain's arcana association is Hanged Man. This means that Kain is the one who would sacrifice the most, and he does. To "please God" he killed his allies. To make up for his mistakes, he gave up his own life, even though Keito had all ready gained the Earth Key. Kain honestly didn't seem to want Yakumo to succeed.
Relationship: There is one very popular pairing for Kain and then there is one that's a little less popular (and very creepy).

- Yakumo: I don't know why, but I'm sure someone out there has thought of this. Yakumo, I hate to say, is very charismatic and almost atractive. However, this is mostly manipulation and deceit. Yakumo used Kain and his weak will to make him do the Black Book's bidding.
- Keito: This is the most obvious of them. Keito and Kain are old friends, and Keito... is Keito (what can I say?). Kain still cares about Keito and his last words to him were "I pray for your victory." I know some people aren't buying into this, but look at the way Keito reacted to his death, and look at what Keito's sacrifice was. The sacrifice is supposed to be something valuable to the person.
