There isn't enough information to do a thorough analysis on either of these characters. Philemon seems to contradict himself a lot, so you know what? History: Not much is known about Philemon, despite his involvement in all installments of Persona. He’s one of the most powerful beings in that universe. Philemon gave our heroes their powers, but whether or not he cared about humanity was debatable by Innocent Sin, but in Be True To Your Mind he seemed like a very kind angel. He seems to have a rivalry with Nyarlathotep. At one point, they had a bet going as to whether or not mankind could stop the end of the world.

History: Much like his counterpart, Philemon, there isn’t much known about Nyarlathotep. He was introduced in Innocent Sin, and he took on the form of Akinari Kashihara to lead Jun down the path that ended with Jun becoming Joker. Also, to make Jun’s friends hesitate, he took on the forms of their fathers as well (since each of them do have parent issues that stem from the father). It is believed the Nyarlathotep gave Yakumo the ability to summon three Personae at once and also gave Yakumo a very powerful nameless Persona.
